The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is a four year high school and a two year junior college. Located in Roswell, NM, the Institute was founded in 1891. There are 500 students in high school and 500 in junior college. NMMI is known as the “West Point” of the Southwest and provides a superior education in a structured military setting.Tennis at NMMI is taken very seriously and both the high school team (State champs three of the last four years) and the junior college team (consistent top 10 JC national ranking) play a tough schedule. Many players work their way through NMMI tennis programs to earn a scholarship to a four year school. With this in mind the Institute is eager to network with all coaches.

JUNIOR COLLEGE. The JC program at NMMI has a national reputation. The Institute plays a year around schedule and travels through the Southwest to find outstanding competition. Coach Gene Hardman has had great success not only in winning matches but also in placing his players at four year universities. Since 1993 the Institute has sent over 30 student/athletes to play in the NCAA’s.

HIGH SCHOOL. NMMI has one of the best high school teams in the state of New Mexico. The Colts have won the state tournament three of the last four years and five of the last ten. During this ten year period, NMMI has never finished lower than fourth. Many of the Colt players earn scholarships to play with the NMMI Broncos (JC team).

FACILITIES/WEATHER Roswell, NM is blessed with some of the best weather in the country. Three-Hundred days a year are clear with an average temperature of 87. The facilities at NMMI are among the best in the state. Twelve new surfaced courts provide a great venue for both the high school and JC players.

Gene Hardman is a 1962 graduate of NMMI and played on the same football squad as Roger Staubach.
